Whanganui Overview

Several choices exist for surfing in Whanganui. The top pick is often South Mole, but on large swells, a left-hander can be found inside the river, along with North Mole. These spots are considerably more protected from swells compared to the open Taranaki coast. The ideal conditions are created by offshore winds from the NE.
