Motu Overview

The coastal stretch from Ōpōtiki to East Cape offers several quality bar and reef surf spots, including Motu, known for its excellent right-hand waves. These breaks all need substantial N to NE swells to activate. Always show respect to the local community, which often means requesting permission to surf at numerous locations.
